WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STUDYING IN CANADA

In order to qualify for a Study Permit, you must have an acceptance letter from a Canadian college or University (a Designated Learning Institution)
You must demonstrate adequate funds to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses during your time in Canada
It's important to apply for a Study Permit well in advance of your program's start date to ensure your application is processed in time

Do I need a Study Permit to study in Canada?

Foreign nationals require a study permit to study at a Canadian Institution for longer than 6 months. To be considered eligible, the Institution must be recognised by IRCC as a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). Visa-requiring Foreign Nationals will also require a Temporary Resident Visa.

​Some Foreign Nationals are able to study in Canada without a Study Permit. Eligible parties include those studying for under 6 months, most minor children in Canada, and the family members or staff of Foreign Diplomats.

Can I work in Canada on a Study Permit?

For those who need additional funds or wish to gain work experience while studying in Canada, it may be possible to work at the same time. In most cases, international students are authorized to work up to 20 hours per week while their program is in session.

Can I stay in Canada after graduation?
